Dear Colleagues,
You are cordially invited to participate in the XIIth International GeoRaman Conference to be held in Novosibirsk, June 9-15, 2016. The Conference scope covers all scientific aspects on the border where Raman spectroscopy and geology meet. This series of biennial meetings started in 1986 has a tradition of interpreting the term ‘geology’ in a broad sense, and thus it also covers archaeometry (e.g. pigment analysis), astrobiology and the analysis of biological molecules, and forensics. A current list of topics includes:
1. Raman Spectroscopy and Materials Science
2. Raman Spectroscopy and Extreme Conditions
3. Raman Spectroscopy and Pigments Study
4. Raman Spectroscopy and Environmental Sciences
5. Raman Spectroscopy and Space Exploration
6. Raman Spectroscopy and Earth Sciences
7. Raman Spectroscopy and Carbonaceous Materials
For the first time, the GeoRaman conference will be held in the Russian Federation, in the Novosibirsk Academy Town, one of the biggest Russian scientific centers where Novosibirsk State University and 35 research institutes are located.
Prof. Andrey Korsakov, Chair
The first GeoRaman conference was held in Paris (France) in 1986, and then continued for several more in France with the second in Toulouse in 1989. The GeoRaman conference moved out of France for the first time in 1999, to Valladolid (Spain), and then took a wide international journey: to Prague (Czech Republic) in 2002, to Hawaii (USA) in 2004, to Almunecar (Spain) in 2006, to Gent (Belgium) in 2008, to Sydney (Australia) in 2010, back to Nancy (France) in 2012, and to St. Louis (USA) in 2014.
